5 powerful ways to improve your Tree Pose:
- Focus on your balance:
Stand on one foot and place the sole of your other foot on the inner thigh of the standing leg. Press the sole of the foot into the thigh and the thigh into the foot to create a strong connection. Engage your core muscles and keep your gaze steady to help maintain your balance. - Align your hips:
Ensure that your hips are level and facing forward. Try to avoid sinking into one hip or pushing the hip out to the side. Engage your glutes to help keep your hips stable. - Lengthen your spine:
Reach up through the crown of your head and lengthen your spine. Avoid hunching forward or collapsing through the chest. Draw your shoulder blades down and back to open up your chest. - Find stability through your feet:
Spread your toes wide and ground down through all four corners of your standing foot. This will help you find stability and create a strong foundation. - Use your breath:
Use your breath to help you find balance and focus. Inhale deeply through your nose and exhale slowly through your mouth. Focus on the sensation of the breath moving in and out of your body as you hold the pose.
Remember to practice Tree Pose on both sides to help create balance and harmony in your body. And as with any yoga pose, listen to your body and modify the pose as needed to suit your own individual needs and abilities. Let us know how it goes in the comments below!
