Angie is a very thoughtful teacher and her sequences are a true balance of gentleness and challenge. She encourages you to find your own depth of practice and always includes some thoughtful words that can be used on and off the mat. Practising outdoors on the Huckleberry Rock granite with Angie was truly wonderful.  Zen Muskoka has helped me change my perspective, reach to challenging fitness goals, and be happy!

BIO

Angie Davis
B.A., B.Ed., RYT, iRest Yoga Nidra Teacher
Angie Davis is the proud owner of Zen Muskoka. She is a registered 200-hour yoga teacher and a Trauma Sensitive Yoga Teacher, having trained through the Trauma Center at the Justice Resource Institute.  She is also a meditation teacher, having her Level 1 iRest® Yoga Nidra Teacher Certification accredited by the Integrative Restoration Institute in California.  She teaches this research-based, complementary therapy that has been proven helpful for P.T.S.D., anxiety, sleep difficulties, and other issues.  Angie is also trained in Mental Health Sensitivity, Mental Health First Aid, and ASIST (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training).  In her career as an elementary school teacher, she is on the Mental Health Steering Committee for Trillium Lakelands District School Board and presents provincially on the topics of health and wellness. Angie also loves leading yoga and meditation retreats in nature!

As someone living with a traumatic brain injury and as a P.T.S.D. survivor, Angie understands the healing and transformative power of yoga firsthand. Yoga supported Angie in recovering from the physical injuries of an accident and, more importantly, also helped her shift mentally from a constant state of debilitating anxiety to a peaceful, meaning-filled life…pose by pose and breath by breath.  Armed with this unique understanding of trauma and P.T.S.D. and fueled by a deep desire to be of service to those on a healing journey, Angie specializes in yoga and meditation for trauma and anxiety.

personal mission

Angie Davis aims to build and connect a community of vibrant and empowered people through yoga and meditation.

For years I’ve heard of the benefits of yoga and I finally had the opportunity to try it.  Angie was the instructor and she was amazing!  Her instructions allowed me to easily follow with the group even though it was my first time.  She modified the more difficult poses which allowed me to be engaged from beginning to end.  I felt energized after the session and knew I wanted yoga to be a part of my daily routine.  Angie’s style allows me to feel relaxed and involved with no pressure.

I love Angie. She is my yoga teacher. I think she is an angel.  On her website profile I read about how yoga helped her heal.  I had no idea to what depth she meant until I asked her if she would like to contribute to this volume.”
