simple. mindful. movement.
Zen Muskoka believes in the therapeutic power of breath and movement to deepen mind-body connection. By blending the science of PHYSIOTHERAPY with the wisdom and tradition of YOGA, Zen Muskoka offers a safe, non-competitive, and inspiring space to breath, move, learn and grow. In this space, students are empowered to honour where they are in their practice, and inspired to grow to their full potential. We offer simple mindful movement.
studio’s history and philosophy
Zen Muskoka has been offering Yoga classes in Bracebridge since September 2013 when Ashley Boone lovingly founded the studio. Kirsten Richardson took over Zen Muskoka in April 2017 and incorporated Physiotherapy into the Studio’s offerings. Now both yoga classes and physiotherapy sessions are offered in a welcoming, safe, and inclusive space where people can explore mindful movement and nurture their personal health and wellness.
Zen Muskoka is owned by Kirsten Richardson who is a Registered Physiotherapist and a Registered Yoga Teacher. Kirsten has served and assisted people from all walks of life to decrease pain and increase function in her 15 year career as a Physiotherapist. She has worked with people with orthopedic, and neurological impairments from sprained ankles to complete spinal cord injuries. With the addition of Yoga Therapy principles into her practice she has noticed a dramatic positive response from her clients. People are fascinated and engaged in their own healing when the focus of therapy is broadened to include more than just the physical. People feel heard and nurtured when the cognitive and emotional components of healing are also embraced by their trusted Physiotherapist advisor.
Zen Muskoka is proud of the diverse and talented team of Yoga Teachers sharing their passion for Yoga in our studio and in our community. Each Zen Muskoka Yoga Teacher shines their own individual experience and personality in class with the common purpose of creating a safe, welcoming place where people gather to explore movement, and learn about mind-body connection.
